Each individual situation requires a different strategy and thus a different price for everyone. If you need basic tax planning, we typically charge between $800 and $8,000. If you need more advanced planning, we typically charge between $10,000 and $50,000. Tax Preparation

We prepare individual taxes, business taxes, estate taxes, trust taxes and more. Each individual situation requires a different return, and the amount of information required for each return can be significantly different, and thus, a different price for everyone. Individual returns typically run between $350 and $600. Other types of returns and personal returns with depreciation can be very time consuming and can range between $800 and $10,000. Business Planning

Business planning can involve many types of plans and documents. Each individual situation requires a different strategy and documents, and thus, a different price for everyone. To give you a range, a basic business formation usually runs between $900 and $2,500; however, they can get quite expensive depending on your needs and desires. Asset Protection

Asset protection can be as simple as a recommendation to get insurance, to the most complicated structures imaginable. The amount depends on the level of protection you want, the amount of assets you are trying to protect, and what types of assets you are trying to protect. Each individual situation requires a different strategy and thus a different price for everyone. Sometimes we may offer free advice on what insurance to buy. For modest asset protection, we typically charge between $3,000 and $6,000. If you need more advanced planning, we typically charge between $6,000 and $20,000. Trust Administration

Trust administration is based on many factors. Sometimes the trust allows for simple administration and sometimes complicated administration. The number of beneficiaries and assets of the trust makes a difference. The types of assets also makes a difference. Because each individual situation requires different amounts of work, the price is different for everyone. If the administration is not complex, then we typically charge between $3,000 and $10,000. If the process becomes more complex, then we charge on an hourly basis. Probate

Even though there is no trust, there may still be ways to avoid probate. For the transfer of assets without a probate, we typically charge between $500 and $4,500. If you need a full probate, there are no getting around the significant costs, and it will just make you depressed if we tell you how much. You should know that it does not matter what attorney you hire; the attorney’s fees are set by law in California Probate Code §10810. This means you can hire the largest firm or a small firm, and it will cost the same amount. The difference is that large firms typically do not take probates with assets totaling less than $1,000,000, and they will simply treat you as a number and not as an individual while you are trying to deal with the loss of a loved one.
